HOW TO ENERGIZE YOUR PV SYSTEM
Congratulations! It is time to energize your system! Please follow the instructions below on how to energize the system. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please reach out to your Project Ambassador.
STEP I
TURN ON THE AC DISCONNECT
Locate your AC disconnect. This will be a gray box with a large lever on the right-hand side. There will be a red label that reads: “Customer Generator System Disconnect”. Verify that the lever is UP in the on position.

STEP II
CHECK YOUR INVERTER
This will depend on the type of inverter that was installed with your PV system.
- Enphase Micro-Inverter: You have completed all the steps to energize your PV system. You can skip this step and move to the third step for turning on your Tesla Powerwall Battery (if applicable).
- SolarEdge Inverter - Look for the two white boxes stacked one on top of the other. On the front of the box is the “SolarEdge” nameplate.
Turn the knob CLOCKWISE to the “ON” position. This is the DC disconnect for the inverter and allows the solar panels to start producing DC power.
- Position yourself eye-level to the gap between the bottom and top boxes; located towards
the left end of the gap, you’ll find a red toggle switch. This is defaulted to sit between the “O” and the “I” position. Move the toggle to the LEFT and let go. Within a few minutes you will begin to see the light sequences. The colors will be red, green and blue.
- Within 5-10 minutes, the light activation sequence should be complete, and a SOLID BLUE AND GREEN lights will be present. The green light confirms the system is operational and the blue light indicates that the inverter is communicating with the server.
Note: If the red light does not turn off, this may indicate an internal error. Please notify your Project Ambassador to further assess and troubleshoot the error with a technician.
STEP III
TURN ON YOUR POWERWALL
The power button is located on the top right side of the Powerwall. The “|” position is ON, “0” is OFF. Push the ‘I’ in and make sure the green LED light on the right side of the Powerwall turns on.
Check your Tesla app approximately 10-15 mins after this has been completed to ensure Power Flow is activated and that your system is on. For SolarEdge & Enphase monitoring, there is a 3-4 hour delay for the data to be reflected on the monitoring site, so please allow adequate time. If the system appears to be off-line, turn the inverter off and repeat this step again.
If you are still unable to verify your system is successfully energized, please contact your project developer or project ambassador.
