INSTALLATION COMPLETION/QC APPOINTMENT
Q. The Electrical Installation crew just finished their work at my home. What happens next?
A. The Electricians will report back to Operations to confirm if installation has been successfully completed and ready to submit for C&C inspections. There are TWO inspectors assigned to your solar permit: Building and Electrical. After your inspection requests have been submitted, the inspectors will conduct their inspection at their own schedule.
A. If they need access to your home, they will contact us, and will let you know when they anticipate to be out. We maintain a weekly follow up with both inspectors, however, the permit closure timeframe will vary. We estimate permit closure within 4-6 weeks* from the electrical installation appointment.
A. In some cases; Building Inspection closure may be contingent on the Electrical Inspectors close out and will be at the discretion of the Inspectors.
A. If there are any punch-list items that the Inspector requests us to make, our Operations will be notified and our schedulers will contact to you determine a date for the Work Order to be scheduled.
A. Our Scheduler will contact you to schedule a Quality Control & Commissioning (QC) appointment with our technician to commission your system, install all monitoring equipment, and gather information required by HECO’s Validation close-out process (Validation Packet). The technician will require access to the electrical equipment and the batteries, if applicable, during this appointment. We ask that you kindly leave access to this area accessible if possible.
A. After your QC appointment is complete, no action will be required from you at this time. Your Electrical Inspection will need to be closed out before we are able to submit your Validation Packet to HECO.
50% SECOND PROGRESS PAYMENT
Q. I received an invoice for my Second Progress Payment, but my QC appointment hasn’t occurred. Why am I being invoiced now?
A. 50% Second Progress Payment is due upon Substantial Completion
- "Substantial Completion" refers to the point at which all of the Contractor's racking and electrical work is finished, ensuring that the Solar Energy System(s) is capable of generating power and is ready for use pending final approval from the government and utility. After reaching Substantial Completion, the Contractor will actively work to facilitate all remaining approvals and address any punch-list items.
